Fattoria San Martino

A Slowlife Hideaway

Fattoria San Martino is not just a place for an overnight stay…  it’s a place to discover, to experience and to taste. It is strongly linked to nature and to the senses and therefore very different from the classic hotel experience. They offer their very own personal services, individual hospitality that comes from the heart.

They have 3 suites and 1 junior suite flooded with light and entirely decorated with natural and recycled materials to hold the environmental impact as low as possible and to live in harmony with the land that surrounds them. San Martino offers a lot of inspiring, well-spaced places inside and outside, they want to offer you both, the possibility to communicate and to retreat, to meet like-minded people and to experience privateness… in order to evoke an authentic, serene feeling of being on vacation.

About the owners

Every day they work hard to build a place where it's possible to meet people, see a flower blossom, understand that mother eart is alive, that the quality of food changes their mood and that all the elements that surrounds them composes the quality of their being.
When Karin Lijftogt, born in the Netherlands and Antonio Giorgini moved in Tuscany and bought the 18th-century villa Fattoria San Martino, just 800 meters form the town and 1 hours drive from Florence, they had in mind a life of natural beauty and rural bliss. The couple had been working in the fashion industry in Milan throughout the ‘80s (Karin in design, Antonio in finance), and while they loved the place, it was starting to take its toll. Then Antonio’s mother died, an event that became a turning point in their life. They both wanted to bring rest and quality into their lives and go back to basic, to a simple country life. So began a new era for the couple and their two sons Flores and Miran.
